crafters & vendors | 5k run | chili contest | scarecrow info | kids zone | wine tasting
The festival officially opens at 10AM on the last Saturday in September as the crisp fall air carries whiffs of kettle corn, chili and other delcious foods prepared by vendors and local restaurants. The crafters proudly display their wares as music plays from the various stages set around the town; chili contestants dish out their top secret concoctions, competing more for the bragging rights than the prizes, and each sure that their chili is the best. Soon after the scarecrows winners are announced, you will probably find the town's Mayor sitting atop a dunk tank in the kids' zone and knowing that he's going to get dunked one way or another! Local South Jersey wineries bring out their best wines for tasting in the wine tasting tents. Woodstown's own Auburn Road Vineyards & Winery is always a favorite at the festival, offering tastes of their award-winning wines produced by grapes grown right on their vineyard here in Salem County.
